The November West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil futures contract settled $2.45 higher at $92.87 a barrel on Thursday, October 1, 2026, according to Newsquawk's crude wrap. The prior official settle was $90.42, per EnergyNow's morning oil report, which puts the move at about 2.7%. Newsquawk reported that WTI touched an intraday high of $93.68 late in the session, after a Wall Street Journal report about US military deployments to the Middle East. It also pointed to reports that Chinese refiners were suspending fuel product exports beyond Hong Kong and Macau. These are settlement figures for one session on one contract, taken from market-data wraps rather than the exchange. Brent prices differed across sources, depending on the contract month, so this brief does not report a Brent level. It does not draw conclusions about inflation or Federal Reserve policy.
