The October 8 table reports weekly-average securities holdings of $6,465,328 million. A weekly balance-sheet observation does not establish a $60 billion monthly runoff pace.

The Federal Reserve's October 8, 2026 H.4.1 release reports average securities held outright of $6,465,328 million in the week ended October 7. That weekly average increased by $2,581 million from the week ended September 30. Average Treasury securities were $4,564,892 million, up $4,342 million from the previous week. Average mortgage-backed securities were $1,898,089 million, down $1,760 million. Federal agency debt securities averaged $2,347 million with no weekly change. The table also gives Wednesday-only observations. Securities held outright on October 7 were $6,466,820 million. That point-in-time value is not the same measure as the weekly average and should not be substituted into a comparison labeled averages of daily figures. Table 1 uses millions of dollars. The $2,581 million weekly change is $2.581 billion, not $2,581 billion. Components may not sum exactly because of rounding and the release distinguishes face-value holdings from unamortized premiums and discounts. This statistical release describes observed balances; it does not announce a new monthly redemption cap or prove that securities declined at a $60 billion monthly pace. Claims about rate-futures probabilities, bond yields and the causes of liquidity changes are not established by this table and are not included here. The reference week ended October 7 and the publication date is October 8. Those dates and the weekly-average label should stay attached when comparing this release with later observations or policy announcements.
